Concrete Rocket is a store based, I believe, in Singapore and run by two brothers. The designs are signed by illustrator Budi Satria Kwan (aka radiomode) who you might already know through his winning designs at the big guys, like Threadless and DBH, and many other fine establishments. These designs are very eye catching with so nice details and surreal imagery. As Budi puts it "Concrete Rocket is about surreal images, social commentaries and gag". These shirts are hand printed and custom tailored, with a slim, fashion forward cut (so check the size chart before you order). It will cost you between $19.50 and $21.00 to dress your torso with one of those beauties (plus s&h) and, yes, they do ship internationally for a very fair cost ($4.99). Of course, Fortune favors the hunters who will use code CRLOVE for 10% discount of any order!

Brand New Brand: Concrete Rocket

Posted by Katrina at 12:54 PM Labels: brand new brand , Keaton Henson , Vicious History
Vicious History launched just a few weeks ago but their designs look so promising! Duh, the brand features shirts designed by some of the best designers out there, such as Keaton Henson whose work has been featured here oh a few times, Oatmeal, Killer Napkins, and Craig Robson. The store is run by Chaz Matses, a 22 year old college student from Boston, who obviously has a hell of a taste and knows how to put together a kick ass team, but also has a vision for his brand; the designs have historical influences with a twist, with a contemporary look. Vicious History is definitely a refreshing entry in the tee world and I'm absolutely looking forward to more designs.
The shirts are hand printed by Storenvy Printing and will become part of your fine wardrobe for a fair $20. Of course, a good hunter knows that the code VH2010 will save him a good 10% off his order courtesy of Mr. Matses...
Oh, and if you're into social networking and all, you can follow VH on Twitter or Facebook.
I guess this is not the best way to start your day, let alone your week, but what can I say, I found Shit Talker shirt to be very amusing. I mean, come on, we all love talking shit. Actually, you know what? I'm talking shit right now! Shit Talker is part of the fine collection of shirts over at People Like Me store, a store that takes pride "in lowering the standard." Their words not mine, no shit! Check them out!
Breakfast at the Capitol? Why Not?
Posted by Katrina at 12:05 PM Labels: Breakfast at the Capitol , Jon Wye
Jon Wye just released this awesome DC themed t-shirt and I love it! The design shows a family of cute blue blobs (dad and three kids -how do I know is the dad? Well, I just know-) having breakfast at the Capitol! Kind of... I guess nobody invited them for pancakes neither did they offer the Capitol dome as a mixing bowl! I wonder, does he substitute the blueberries for the representatives? (cheap joke, I know...) Anyway, Breakfast at the Capitol is printed on a silver gray 100% cotton shirt with a 3" Pirate Chefs print (the official Jon Wye logo) on the back neck, and to be part of your wardrobe it'll cost you a good $29. Good news, if you buy this shirt before February 27 you'll receive a free 2009 Gooey DC t-shirt and if for some reason they don't have your size, you'll receive a $10 off coupon for your next purchase. Sweet!
Did you Say "Akumu Ink Shirt Giveaway"?
Posted by Katrina at 7:00 AM Labels: Akumu Ink , shirt giveaway , t-shirt contest , win a free t-shirt
Update: this contest is now closed! Please don't post any more songs. I'll review all the entries and will announce the two lucky winners in the comments area and in a separate post. Stay tuned!
Woohoo! I'm so excited about this contest that I might need a plastic surgery to bring my smile back to it's place! I've been talking about it with Joey and Dora, from Akumu Ink, for a while now and, since last week was the 2 year anniversary of the brand, we felt it was the perfect timing for a shirt giveaway. So here's how we gonna play; see this image below? That is a photo of the Ripper shirt, which I just happen to like. What I want from you, my sweet hunters, is to leave a comment with the name of a song that you think suits the design! Sure, I could have chosen this shirt but that would be too easy, wouldn't it? There's no right or wrong answer, just use your imagination and this shirt as your inspiration. I promise, even if I don't know the song I will find it and listen to it, as long as it's not your cousin's Joe's latest hit and his super duper unknown brand (and even if it is, just add a damn link where I can listen to some mp3, for God's sake!). When the contest is over, I'll consult with Joey and Dora and we'll announce two lucky folks that will win one shirt each. The contest starts today, February 8th and will run for a couple of weeks. You can enter as many songs as you like, but in order to keep it clean, use one comment for each entry and please try to write the name of the song and name of artist (I'm not the freakin iTunes, you know!). I hope you guys have fun, I know I will, so let's rock this contest!!!

Ok, I just hate VD and every year I swear I'll pretend it does not exist, I'll post no VD shirts, no sales, nothing! And then Randr puts a bunch of shirts on sale (I'm talking about ridiculous prices, really) and calls it Valentine's Day sale! What do you want me to do, huh?
New from Violent Elegance

A couple of weeks ago, Violent Elegance released four new designs and, oh the greatness of them is just incredible! This brand is a great example of how you can do wonders by just adding a huge black V on a white shirt. Seriously, I imagine these guys just chilling in a white, totally minimalistic, loft somewhere in Berlin; suddenly, a guy stands up and with a black sharper in his hand sketches a big letter V on a board; a great t-shirt is born... Yep, I'm that big of a groupie, I imagine things! To be honest, I'm a little put off by the price (€29->$40) but come to think about it, we've seen worst numbers coming out of Eoropean brands, so... In any case we can always look and salivate!

The Ambassador of SEXY Photo Contest!
Posted by Katrina at 8:21 PM Labels: contest , FiftySeven-ThirtyThree
I rarely feature other people's contests here, it's complicated to explain the rules and I'm sort of bored (yeah bored!), but when the 5733 folks up in Oakland are up to a contest called, The Ambassador of SEXY, things are getting very interesting... The rules are simple: send them your best pics with some fiftyseven-thirtythree gear and make sure they are dripping with sexy! Then the team will vote for the best (or sexiest?) photo and the winner will get a Japanese schoolgirl flag hoodie!!! This is one of their best designs ever and is a value of $175. So yeah, that is a kick ass prize and this is a pretty damn fun contest.
